Press Release Body: Philadelphia - The creators The Big Bang Film Festival have
brought Timbal Fest 2008 to Philadelphia. The three-day film festival will be held
June 6-8, 2008 at 315 Broad Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and will feature
independent, international films from and about Africa and reflecting the
Pan-African diaspora. The genres and themes range from dramatic to comedic
including features, shorts, documentaries and animation. With a selection of films
from Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa and Cameroon, just to name a few, there
promises to be a variety of work to suit all tastes. For fans of these exciting
film centers, this is an unprecedented opportunity in the area to enjoy the fresh,
entertaining and eclectic mix of films from and about the peoples, cultures, sights
and sounds of Africa.

Timbal Fest has partnered with the African Studies Center at the University of
Pennsylvania and Bob Lott of the Black Entertainment and Music Association (BEMA) to
